One of the biggest and most influential anime that shaped every anime fan’s childhood has finally returned after 17 years. According to a report from the TV Tokyo Financial Results in the Q & A section, Ichiro Hishikawa, the president and representative of TV Tokyo Holdings, will return to the original Naruto series following the younger version of Naruto.
In July 2023, the official account of the Naruto franchise officially announced four new episodes of the Naruto series that were expected to air in September 2023. However, another announcement was made that the anticipated comeback of Naruto will be delayed because of the issues of quality production. Moreover, after the announcement, there is no follow-up announcement as to when it will be released.
Exploring Naruto
Naruto is a shounen manga series that is written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto - an action series set in a world of ninjas where they fight using different jutsu(techniques). The entire series consists of 3 different titles: Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and the current sequel Borut: Naruto Next Generations.
The story follows Naruto, a young ninja who seeks acknowledgment and recognition from others as he dreams of becoming a Hokage. However, he has a tough childhood life because of the nine-tailed monster(Kyuubi) residing in him that scares the citizens of Konoha village. But with the people who accepted him and decided to support him despite his dark upbringing, he keeps on following his dream as he works hard.
Together with his peers in team 7, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, and their mentor Hatake Kakashi, they will face various challenges and struggles as they work hard to become full-fledged shinobis.
Naruto’s Comeback
With the upcoming comeback of Naruto, it will bring the older side of the anime fandom a sense of nostalgia that shaped their childhood and early days of watching anime. Though the series is still technically continuing after the sequel Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the original Naruto will definitely be anticipated by most anime fans who watched Naruto.
